The Parks & Recreation department is the lead natural resources and recreation agency within Coconino County government. Coconino County is the second largest county in the contiguous United States and the largest in Arizona, but is one of the most sparsely populated. It is characterized by rugged mountains, deep canyons and thick forests of pine, spruce, piñon, aspen and oak.
Coconino County Parks & Recreation operates and manages six county parks and two natural areas, which are free to the public:

Raymond County Park (in Kachina Village)
Peaks View County Park (East Flagstaff/ Doney Park/Timberline)
Sawmill Multicultural Art & Nature County Park (near downtown Flagstaff)
Louise Yellowman County Park (in Tuba City)
Cataract Lake County Park (in Williams)
Pumphouse County Natural Area (in Kachina Village)
